Chevrolet High Performance Coach Grants

Program Description:


Chevrolet and the Coaching Association of Canada are committed to improving Olympic performances by creating unique competitive advantages through customized grants for coach development that will benefit athletes.

Ten grants of $10,000 will be awarded annually to coaches for the purpose of enhancing coaching excellence and expertise that will support their athletes’ drive to the podium.

Funding for the 2011 Club Coaching and High Performance Coach Grants have not been confirmed by Chevrolet and CAC.

Eligible activities include:

  • Special training camps
    • To expose the coach and athlete/team to the next Olympic venue and host city environment
    • For coach/athlete or team training with other recognized world class competitors
  • Innovations in coaching techniques or tools (e.g. Access to leading Edge Athlete Performance Technology or Equipment)
  • Travel to ensure the coach can attend international competitions not covered in national team programs
  • Other needs as identified by the coach and athlete
Selection Criteria:

Coach/Athlete partnerships will be selected:

  • From Olympic or Paralympic sports, summer and winter

  • Based on athlete/team performance at major international competitions

  • In good standing with their respective National Sport Organization (NSO)

  • Uniqueness, quality, and impact of the proposal (newsworthiness)

Application must be submitted by the athlete/team representative and coach, and their respective NSO must endorse the application.

Application Process:

Applications will ONLY be accepted online.

The application requires a joint effort by the Coach, Athlete/Team Representative, and NSO. Once the coach sets up the application and creates a login, the athlete (or team representative) and the NSO contact, must complete their sections for the application.

Coach

Part 1 - The coach must initiate the application by setting up the athlete/team representative 

            and NSO contact information with a password.

Part 2 – The coach may then log-in and complete the coach information and project information

            aspects of the application.

Athlete or Team Representative

The Athlete or Team Representative will login to complete the athlete information aspects of the application. A password from the coach is needed.

NSO Contact

NSO Contact will login to complete the NSO aspects of the application. A password from the coach is needed.

Confirmation of Receipt
A confirmation e-mail will be sent as each part of the application is completed. Once all three parts are completed, the coach will receive notification by e-mail.
